Scenes are AI-generated lifestyle images that place your product in realistic environments. They're powered by Nova's Digital Product Identity technology.

How scenes work

Scene generation in Nova is fundamentally different from other AI image tools. Here's why:

Most AI tools require you to upload a photo and describe what you want. They see pixels and have to guess what your product looks like. The result is often inaccurate or inconsistent.

Nova works differently. When you upload a 3D model and generate a Digital Product Identity (DPI), Nova extracts everything about your product: geometry, dimensions, materials, textures, branding details. When you write a prompt, you only describe the scene โ€” the environment, lighting, and composition. Nova already knows the product.

The result: more accurate, more consistent AI-generated images that truly match your actual product.

Digital Product Identity (DPI)

The DPI is required for scene generation. It's created in one of two ways:

  1. During product upload โ€” Toggle on "Generate digital product identity" (costs 6 tokens per variant)
  2. Automatically โ€” If you didn't create it during upload, Nova generates it automatically when you create your first scene for that product

The DPI only needs to be created once per variant. After that, each scene costs just 1 token per image.

Writing prompts

The key rule: describe the scene, not the product.

Your prompt should focus on:
